Predict multi-channel shopper demandWGS have developed a comprehensive tool set to handle todays complex multi channel shopping environment. Our Mission Modeller, an integral part of the WGS Mission Manager tool set, builds a picture of channel specific demand at the population level from a detailed analysis and modelling of the behaviour of individual shoppers and/or shopper segments. Using unique A.I. technology, our modelling process converts insights into quantitative forecasts delivering a step change in the ability of suppliers and retailers to deliver a return on their investment in the huge quantities of market research and focus group data now available. The WGS tool sets can model the impact of demographic changes, to age profiles and ethnic mix for example, changing channel preferences, the diffusion of peer group pressures and many other aspects of shopper behaviour. Because the manager creates simulations of demand over time the impact of change can be quantified for both tactical (short term) and strategic (longer term) purposes. Using an internal mapping system, or an existing client GIS, the critical impact of relative geographies - travel times, workplace location, alternative channel locations - can be modelled in space as well as time. Model Focus Group Behaviour......Forecast Advertising Campaign impacts over timeOf course, customers buy products and by relating product attributes to customer types and their propensity to spend, the Mission Modeller can forecast total demand from a given shopper catchment for a range of product mixes. This functionality can be extended to New Product Development (NPD) work, modelling expected multi channel demand within the shopper population. The introduction of New Products is a notoriously difficult time. Mission Modeller can simulate product introductions and quantify the effects of Advertising and Promotional activity, factored in to the simulation. Comprehensive "what-if" scenario functions in fact allow any modelled parameter to be varied in isolation or in combination with any other factors over a given time frame. These complex simulations often capture brand new insights in the form of "emergent" behaviour: effects that are not anticipated or programmed explicitly into the model but arise in the population as a result of interactions.
